Our Engagement

  • How we met

Jason and I met late 2011. Both of our boys attended Karate at a place in the St. Louis Mills Mall. After several glances and "hi how you doing's" I began to wonder when he would ever musturd up the courage to ask me for my number. He never did. I figured he was being respectful and didn't want to ask for my number in front of the kids. I trust faith and,  well if its meant to be it'll be. Not too much longer after the Karate Dojo closed down I ran into Jason out downtown. Not knowing if he remembered me I kept walking. As I was walking past him I heard a "Hi beautiful" and low and behold it was Jason, he asked for my number and I gave it to him...of course.  We became friends through conversation and later began to date. We were both beyond infatuaed with how well we got along. Flash forward to 2014, by this time we have joined our families and began to make plans for the next step.

  • The Proposal

It was a nice fall day, September 2015, nothing out of the ordinary. I had spoken with Jason several times on the phone and via text that day, nothing uncommon for us, but during one phone conversation he stated he left work for lunch. This was strange because Jason normally didn't leave for lunch. I thought nothing of it went about my day. As the day went on I began to have a headache and feel a bit sluggish. I called Jason to ask if he could fix dinner. He stated he had it under control and to come home and rest. I walked in the house feeling, and probally looking like, a zombie from the walking dead. Jason was there with open arms, dinner on the stove and bath water ran. As I was getting ready to lay down for the evening I noticed that he had his hoodie on with the hood over his head. I thought it was strange but my head was hurting pretty bad by this time so I didn't even bother to ask why he had it on. As I laid in bed Jason began to ask if I needed anything or if there was anything he could do, before I could get an answer out he said he knew what would make me feel better and pulled and ring box out of his hoodie pocket, I began to cry of course, as he asked me to be Mrs. Martin. Of course I said YES!.. duh. And now our journey begins.
